OPEN CALL

BEHING CLOSED DOORS

A Group Exhibition at HOM Gallery

What happens in a home? A simple question with endless answers.

For its second exhibition, HOM Gallery invites artists to explore the spaces we know best, and perhaps understand least.

Homes are containers for our lives.

A kitchen may become a sanctuary, a battlefield, a studio, a confessional, or a place of seduction.

A dining room may host celebration, mourning, negotiation, performance, ritual, rebellion, or revelation.

A bedroom may offer rest, intimacy, solitude, healing, imagination, grief, or escape.

Yet none of these experiences belong exclusively to any one room.

The boundaries between our domestic spaces are fluid. Desire can emerge around a kitchen counter. A life-changing conversation may happen in a doorway. Ritual can unfold at a bedside. Grief may settle over a dining table.

We are interested not only in the spaces themselves, but in the human experiences they contain, and the ways those experiences transform ordinary rooms into extraordinary places.

From the most innocent moments to the most intimate. From the mundane to the transformative. From private rituals to shared experiences.

We welcome work that explores the realities, fantasies, memories, relationships, tensions, desires, and stories that unfold within domestic space.

Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly.
