A Group Exhibition at HOM Gallery
 

Animals have occupied our homes, our myths, our fears, our histories, and our imaginations for as long as we have been making images.
 

ANIMAL KINGDOM is an open call for work in which an animal appears, any animal, in any capacity.
 

The animal may be the subject, a companion, a witness, a symbol, a memory, a disruption, or simply a quiet presence within the work. It may be domestic or wild, beloved or feared, familiar or strange. It can appear prominently or almost disappear into the composition.
 

The subject matter itself does not have to be about animals. A work may explore intimacy, politics, identity, landscape, humor, grief, domesticity, fantasy, violence, beauty, or something entirely unrelated.

There is only one requirement:

There must be an animal in the piece.

A dog asleep beneath a table. A horse crossing a landscape. A bird outside a bedroom window. An insect barely visible in the corner. A creature drawn from mythology. An animal used as metaphor, portrait, ornament, protagonist, or background character.

ANIMAL KINGDOM considers the many ways animals inhabit the worlds we construct, physically, emotionally, culturally, and symbolically — and what happens when the human figure is no longer the only presence in the room.

SUBMISSION DETAILS

Artists may submit 1–3 works for consideration.
 

All mediums are welcome, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, textile, mixed media, and other forms of visual art.

Each submission must include:
 

• Images of the work

• Title

• Medium

• Dimensions

• Year

• Retail price

• A short artist statement of no more than 100 words, incorporating information about the artist and the submitted work

Submitted works must be available for exhibition and sale.
 

HOM Gallery retains a 25% commission on works sold through the exhibition, with 75% going directly to the artist.

Selected work will remain represented by HOM for a two-month period in connection with the exhibition, including sales inquiries generated through the show.

All accepted works must arrive signed and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (COA).

By submitting, artists authorize HOM Gallery to reproduce submitted images for exhibition promotion, the digital catalogue, website, social media, press, and related marketing.

Artwork Delivery: Week of October 12, 2026

ANIMAL KINGDOM is presented by HOM Gallery, an independent gallery-at-home exhibition space in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
